About as gentle as children's animation gets: soft narration, unhurried scenes, and a real focus on nature and sibling relationships over jokes or action. There's very little music or spectacle competing for attention -- which is exactly the point, but it does mean higher-energy kids may drift rather than engage. A good choice specifically when calm is the goal.
